Truck tribute
Ron Hickle of Uniontown proudly displays his commemorative truck bearing the names of the 2,977 people killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Hickle, who was working as a truck driver, purchased the remote-controlled truck at a Pilot truck stop in Ohio that October. “I just knew it would be important,” he said. “I just wanted to have it for a keepsake and focus and never forget. It seems like a lot of people are starting to forget what happened and why it happened.” He still keeps the truck in the original box, occasionally showing it to family members or co-workers as a shared way to remember.
