Point Marion bank robbed
Police are searching for a person who robbed a bank in Point Marion Monday. About 11:20 a.m., a heavyset white male walked into the United Bank branch at 113 Penn St. and passed a note to the teller asking to give him money, said Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Kalee Barnhart. The man was described as wearing a gas mask and a Steelers ball cap. Nobody was injured in the incident, and no weapons were brandished, Barnhart said. The bank closed temporarily Monday after the incident, redirecting customers to branches in Smithfield and Uniontown. Southeastern Greene School District placed schools on a security watch, keeping students indoors, because of the robbery, according to the district's Facebook page. Additional information was not available at press time. [Garrett Neese]
