A Fayette County man is accused of attempting to kill his mother at their home in Ronco Saturday evening.

Nicholas Easter, 41, allegedly violently assaulted his mother with a blunt object when she returned to the home Saturday night and struck her with a vehicle, Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said in a Facebook post Sunday.

Easter is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery of a motor vehicle, inflicting serious injury during a robbery, theft by unlawful taking, reckless endangerment and simple assault.

Judge Michael Defino denied Easter bail at his arraignment Saturday on the grounds of posing a threat to himself and others.

Easter’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 28.
