Uniontown man facing rape charge

1 min read

A Uniontown man is accused of raping a woman while he was at her house earlier this month.

Darren Harrison, 33, was charged Tuesday with rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault in connection with the incident, which the alleged victim told police happened on Fayette Street in Uniontown in the early morning hours of Sept. 2.

The alleged victim told Harrison to stop several times during the assault, the complaint said. She also shared a text with police Harrison sent the next day asking her if she thought the encounter was consensual.

Harrison told police he had stopped when asked, the complaint said.

As of Tuesday, Harrison was no longer cooperating with police and had left the area, the complaint said.

A warrant was issued for Harrison’s arrest, citing his flight as well as the text message and inconsistencies in Harrison’s story, court paperwork states.
