More than $400K, guns, drugs seized in Fayette County sweep
More than $400,000 in cash, along with narcotics and 20 guns, was recovered in a law enforcement sweep in Fayette County Thursday morning.
Search warrants were executed at three locations in German Township and Masontown as part of an extensive narcotics trafficking investigation, Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said in a Facebook post.
Thursday’s operation included members of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice Unit and their Special Emergency Response Team patrol units, along with the Masontown Police Department and Assistant District Attorney Anthony Gentile.
Detectives seized about $425,000 in cash, firearms and multiple kilograms of methamphetamine and cocaine, along with other items indicating a major drug operation, Aubele said.
Mendo Love, 52, of Ronco, was arrested Thursday after the sweep and charged with more than 25 felony counts of possession of a narcotic with intent to deliver, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities and possession of a firearm prohibited. He also faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
Judge Daniel Shimshock denied Love bail Thursday, citing flight risk. He was lodged in the Fayette County jail.
Love’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 5.
