Carmichaels man charged with aggravated assault
A Carmichaels man is in jail after allegedly attacking a man with a handgun and shooting at him with an empty chamber Thursday.
Witnesses said Alexander Watson, 31, hit Brendon Patitucci in the back of the head with a revolver shortly before 11 a.m. as Patitucci was fighting with another man outside 44 Cumberland Village in Carmichaels on Thursday, according to court documents.
Watson had arrived at the residence with another man in a gold SUV trailing Patitucci’s ex-girlfriend, who was returning his vehicle to him, according to the criminal complaint.
Patitucci told police he had gotten into an argument with the other man over an incident involving his ex-girlfriend before Watson hit him, causing him to black out for a few seconds.
After Patitucci tried to take the gun, Watson pulled the trigger, the complaint said.
When it only clicked, Watson told Patitucci to “never talk to her again,” he said.
Watson and the other two then drove off in the SUV, still yelling at Patitucci, the complaint said.
Fayette EMS transported Patitucci to the hospital for evaluation of his head injury.
Watson’s bail was set at $250,000 at his arraignment before Judge David Balint on Saturday, and he is currently lodged at the Greene County jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 7.
