Barbara Jean Norris Watts

Vanderbilt
Barbara Jean Norris Watts, a beloved resident of Vanderbilt, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, at her cherished home surrounded by her devoted family.
Born on January 2, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Roy and Kathryn Fern Lawler Norris.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Berry; and her beloved brother, Buddy Norris.
A passionate artist, Barbara was a member of the esteemed Bethel Artists Guild. Barbara’s passion for art won her several prideful ribbons.
She retired from the letter carriers union, where they honored her with gifts and cards for the holidays and birthdays. She also had a passion for gardening which kept the outside of her home lush with greenery and flowers.
Her welcoming nature kept her house full during the holidays with family, friends, and lots of food. Her love of travel, allowed her to explore many of what became her favorite places across the United States.
Her neighbors were also like family making sure to visit often and always lend a helping hand. She will be fondly remembered for her loving nature and ability to never turn away a stray cat.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Timothy “Tim” Watts; and their five children: David Berry (Terry) Berry, Susan Dunn (Craig), Michele Wells, Alan Berry (Carrie) and Michael Berry (Laurene). They are also blessed with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of Barbara’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. We ask that any gifts be donated to your local animal shelter or Bethel Artist Guild.
