Francis A. Gansor, Sr., 79, of Bobtown, Pa., passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Waynesburg Health and Rehab Center. Born in Greensboro, Pa. on April 2, 1946, he was a son of the late John and Theresa Mastahuba Gansor.

Following graduation in 1965 from Mapletown High School, he entered the U.S. Army, honorably serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

Francis was a coal miner for more than 38 years, retiring from Federal #2. He was a member of the U.M.W.A., the Bobtown Polish Club and the V.F.W. in Greensboro. In his spare time, Francis enjoyed cheering on the Steelers every Fall, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing all over the area with his sons.

Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Brozik) Gansor; three sons, Francis Gansor, Jr. of Mt. Airy, MD, Brian Gansor (Bonnie) of Bobtown, and Barry Gansor (Amanda) of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Garret Gansor, Brooke Cox, Faith, Blair and Anna Gansor; one brother, Carl Gansor of Elyria, Ohio; and many friends.

Also deceased are two brothers, John and Thomas Gansor, and two sisters, Anna Mae Brnusak and Cecelia Jane Smith.

A private blessing Service for his family will be held in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, with Rev. Fr. Francis Fraser officiating. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
