William Harrison Roebuck
William “Bill” Harrison Roebuck, 71, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, with his Laurel House family at his side.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Pauline Bryner; and father, Walter Harrison Roebeck; his sisters, Betty Jane and Barbara Jean; brothers, Melvin Perry and Boyd Allen; grandparents, Jim and Harriet Bryner; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his uncle, Robert Bryner of Scottdale; and many cousins.
Bill received support from Laurel House, Inc. since September 6, 1978, and considered his housemates as his brothers. In recent years, Bill liked to tease and joke with his favorite staff. He had a quick wit and always had a zinger of a one-liner comeback, then he would laugh.
Bill also worked at Goodwill Industries in the recycling and janitorial departments. He loved his job until the day he retired.
He attended Faith Assembly Church and was a member of the Sunbeams Class.
Bill had a great personality and a heart of gold. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. He collected Steelers memorabilia and Steelers “Fat Heads”. Bill loved to attend the Pirates games. He loved to go bowling, dancing, sailing on the Gateway Clipper, taking train rides and traveling. Bill also participated in the Special Olympics in his younger years.
Friends and family will be received from 12 noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Friday, December 19, in the GATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 136 N. Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown. A Celebration of Life will be held in Bill’s honor at a later date.
