Mary Elizabeth “Mamie” Carolla, 98, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025, surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving to others.

A graduate of North Union High School in 1945, she worked at A&P until her marriage in 1950, after which she devoted herself to raising her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph J. Carolla, with whom she shared a loving marriage and built a family rooted in warmth and tradition. Mamie was a dedicated and caring mother to Ralph I. (Vickie) Carolla, Mark F. (Adrianne) Carolla, Carol A. (Paul) Steinman, Raymond G. (Robbi) Carolla, and Thomas J. (Beth) Carolla. She found great joy in being a grandmother and great-grandmother, and she was likewise cherished by her grandchildren: Nicole Turner, Timothy Carolla, Lena Carolla, Jack Steinman, Lindsay Hudson, Carly Carolla, and Catie Carolla, and great-grandchildren: Bryson, Elise, and Roman Turner, and Omeda Hudson. Mamie is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

An only child, she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Francis Harmon Novak.

Mamie had a curious mind and a lifelong interest in the world around her. A self-described “news-junkie,” she enjoyed keeping up with current events and found joy in popular culture and entertainment, always eager to stay connected to what was happening beyond her doorstep. Whether following her favorite shows or sharing observations about the world, she remained engaged, sharp, and interested until her final days.

Mamie was the heart of her family and enjoyed gathering together, playing cards, and sharing wonderful meals, especially if there was chocolate involved.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Friendship Village of South Hills and Amedisys Hospice for their compassion and care.

Family and friends will be received at HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 North Gallatin Ave Extension, Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA 15401 at noon on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, followed by interment at Sylvan Heights Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
