Nelson J. Boskovitch

Hopwood
Mr. Nelson J. Boskovitch, 78, of Hopwood, passed away Saturday evening, July 26, 2025, in the Uniontown Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 1, 1947, in Uniontown, to the late Jospeh A. and Isabel Urban Boskovitch.
Nelson attended South Union High School, Class of 1965, and later went on to attend Duffs Business College in Pittsburgh.
Nelson was never one to shy away from work and began working at the age of 12. Whether it was digging ditches, hauling chickens, or changing tires, Nelson always put in a day’s worth of work.
After attending Duffs, Nelson began a career with Steel Scaffolding, and was with them until their closing in the early 1980s. In 1984 he began an over 30-year career with Nationwide Insurance. If you were fortunate enough to have Nelson as your agent, you know that he always put his customers’ needs first.
During his retirement years, he was employed at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, where he was able to continue putting the needs of those families first.
Nelson was a people person. Through the relationships developed at Steel Scaffolding, the policy holders with Nationwide Insurance, or the various school fundraisers and activities he participated in for the four boys, Nelson could not go anywhere without bumping into someone he knew. Always one for conversation, he could stand and “chew the fat” with almost anybody.
He was a loving and caring son, husband, father, and friend. Nelson put everyone else before himself, and he would do anything to lend a helping hand. He was always there to offer advice and guidance and wanted nothing more than the best for his wife and sons.
A devout man of the Catholic faith, Nelson did his best to live the teachings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If you were fortunate to know him, you know Nelson was a “salt of the earth” gentleman. The world now has a big hole in it now that Nelson has gone to Heaven.
In addition to his parents, Nelson was predeceased by his mother and father-in- law, Eugene and Betty Skowronek; brother-in- law, Sylvester Tobay; and niece, Nicole Duda.
He is survived by his wife, Jane E. Boskovitch, with whom he recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 3, 2025; four sons, Bradford Boskovitch and wife April of Rostraver Township, Brian Boskovitch and wife Debbie of Hopwood, Jonathan Boskovitch and wife Rebecca of Nicholasville, Ky., and Jeremy Boskovitch and wife Angie of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Lauren (Denny) Hussar, Brycen and Conner Boskovitch, Parker and Brody Boskovitch, and Gavin and Weston Boskovitch; three sisters, Kathleen Fike and husband Don of Virginia, Terri Tobay of Greensburg, and Jackie Duda and husband Joe of Maryland; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
