The family of Thomas Lewis “Tom” Foreman, of Uniontown, announce his passing Monday, July 28, 2025, at the age of 70. Tom passed away at WVU Uniontown Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He died from various health problems and kidney failure.
Tom was born on October 4, 1954, in Canton, Ohio, to the late William Earl Foreman and Helen Lucille Strong Foreman.
He is survived by his brother, Ron Foreman (Karen Adams) of Uniontown; and sister, Joanne Sommers (Ray) of Buffalo, N.Y.
Tom was predeceased by siblings, Patty Fleming (Jim), William Earl Foreman III, and Tammy Lynn Foreman.
Tom is survived by in-laws, Deborah Casteel (Joe) and Patricia Kooser (Alf).
He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Candy Neff; and brother-in-law, Franklin Neff Jr.
Tom married the late Georgianna Katherine Pitts Foreman July 7, 1985. He was a loving and devoted husband. Together they raised their children, Christopher Smith (Joyce) and Deborah Smith, who adored him. Tom’s grandchildrens’ father, Frank, was an important part of his life also. Tom also had special pets named Ella and Sophia, who he enjoyed.
Tom was a proud great-grandfather of Hannah, Malachi, Alix, Savannah, Kinsleigh, Kallie, Gracelyn, Maelyn, and Bryson. He was predeceased by two great-grandsons that he loved very much, Hunter and Hayden. Tom was a proud grandfather of Trisha, April (Tom), Michael (Blake), Ariel (Ben), Christopher Jr. (Bailey), Hannah, Abbey (Johnathan), and Nathaniel.
He was predeceased by his grandchildren, Richard and Haley. Tom had a special bond with Haley and referred to her as his Doobie. She was the apple of his eye.
Tom is survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends. He is survived by special nieces Baleigh, Kelsea and Paisley, who loved him very much. He had so many special people who visited, cared for him, and asked about him often. He was loved more than he knew.
Tom drove truck for 10 years and worked as a maintenance worker for 24 years before he retired.
Tom was a member of the Moose Lodge and The Eagles. He loved watching the Steeler’s play football and enjoying time with his family and friends. Tom had a kind and gentle soul and was cherished by all who knew him. Tom’s daughter, Debbie and granddaughters, Abbey and Hannah took good care of him the last few years of his life.
Family and friends are asked to wear Steelers attire since they were Tom’s favorite team.
Friends will be received in the GATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 136 N. Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, and Thursday, July 31, from 11 until 11:30 a.m., the hour of service, with Vicky officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, 395 Hopwood Fairchance Road, Uniontown.
