Helen Ann Sofranko, 99, of Footedale, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. She was born on September 1, 1926, in Perryopolis, daughter of the late George and Helen Shutty Sofranko
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her three brothers: Joseph, George and Donald Sofranko; two sisters, Agnes Simon and Margaret Demeter; niece, Cynthia Mihalko; and great-niece, Terri Baron. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a lifetime member of the former St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church of Footedale now St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church of Footedale.
Helen is survived by her nieces: Linda (Durwood) Green, Suzanne Simon, Diane Demeter, Mary Beth Simon (Robert Snyder), Julie Simon, Karen (Steve) Stanish and Kathy (Greg) Lacek. She is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends

Family and Friends will be received in The DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 3. Prayers of Transfer will be said at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church of Footedale with the Reverend Father Innocent Orduah as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery of Footedale.
