Stephen S. Slavic, Jr., 94, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 28, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 2, 1931, in Uniontown, son of the late Stephen Slavic, Sr. and Anna Zelenak Slavic.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Rose Dragone Slavic; and sister, Barbara Ritucci.
Steve was a 1949 graduate Uniontown High School then worked as a roofer for L.R. Lloyd Company and Miller, Thomas and Guykus, Inc.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church of Uniontown; the I.O.O.F. Monongalia Lodge #10 in Morgantown, W.Va. and I.O.O.F. Nathan Lewis Fort Necessity Lodge #254.
Steve was passionate about fishing, hunting and woodworking. Most importantly, his family was his life.
Left to cherish Steve’s memory are his loving children: Richard Slavic and wife, Katherine of Morgantown, W.Va., Pamela Pokorny and husband, Mark of Uniontown, Kimberly Slavic Roche and fiance, James Kubacki of Smithfield and Denise Slavic of Smithfield; grandchildren: Kevin Slavic, Jennifer Bokan and husband, Greg, Jessica Shane and husband, Cody, Megan Roche, Sarah Myers and husband, Eric and Jacob Stephan and wife, Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren: Parker, Anna, Colin, Eli, and Callan; brother, Ronald J. Slavic of Uniontown; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and granddogs: Griffin, Sadie and Lilly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received from 2 until 8 p.m. on Thursday. Viewing will continue from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home on Friday, October 3, with prayers of transference at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrating Steve’s life at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Odd Fellows memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Parastas prayer service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
