Dolores Jean Ritz Polito, 91, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Monday, October 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born February 28, 1934, in Uniontown, a daughter of the late John Sr. and Rose Ritz.
In 1960 she married her sweetheart, William F. Polito and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Dolores was the proud mother of two children, a grandmother to two amazing grandchildren and a granny to three beautiful great-grandbabies, all whom were the light of her life.
Dolores was the proud owner of Polito’s Tavern, where she had a gift of bringing people together. Her laugh, often loud and contagious, filled every room she entered. She was a hardworking and dedicated women.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William Polito; her son, Pete McDowell of Uniontown; her daughter, Debra J. King (Fred) of Uniontown; two grandchildren, William K. Connors (Tatum), and Crystal J. Connors; three great- grandchildren, Delaney Russell, Brantley Connors, and Brieley Connors; nephew, Michael Ritz (Lisa); and many cherished friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Ritz, William Ritz, Dominick Ritz; and sister, Rose Yowler.
Though she is no longer with us, the memory of her kindness and the sound of her laughter will echo in our lives forever.
Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 17, when prayers of transfer will be held followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
