Charles Barry Humbert

Charles Barry Humbert, 70, formally of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Born on June 27, 1955 in Hollywood, California, he was one of the beloved children of the late Harlen and Wanda Cagey Humbert.
A hardworking man with a generous spirit, Barry began his career as a coal miner, known as Haystax, with the UMWA in which he retired after the mine closed in 1997; Joann Mine 1976-1977, Martinka 1977-1978, & Humphrey 1978-1997. He studied at Penn Commercial; class of 1999. Later retiring from an upper IT position with Verizon.
He had a lifelong passion for HAM radio (KA3AIA) (later WC3BH). He spent countless hours at the W3PIE Uniontown Amateur Radio Club. He enjoyed annual trips with club members to the Dayton Hamvention in Ohio, each spring, until his health no longer permitted him.
Barry was a man of few words, but many talents. He loved taking pictures, working with wood, building computers, wood burning, and riding his motorcycle.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Barry dedicated his life to Jehovah, being baptized on September 1, 1973.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenny “Tex” and Billy; and sister Patty.
Barry is survived by his wife, Tammy Brown; children from his first marriage with Melodi, Melissa (Todd) Harmon, Rachael (Bill) Reynolds, Sarah (Daryl) Penn, and Amber (Joshua) Darnell; grandchildren Skylar Moon, Logan Moon, Autumn Moon, Pyper Reynolds, Thea Darnell, siblings Harlen “Junior”, Carol, Charlene, Jimmy, along with his dear Aunt Ada, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Barry’s humor and generosity will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, PA on Friday October 31 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday November 1 from 3 p.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 4pm. Interment will be held privately.
