Richard “Dick” Earl Forsythe, 88, of Connellsville, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025. He was born in Connellsville August 6, 1937, a son of the late Howard Edward and Margaret Oppman Forsythe.
He was married to his wife, Judith Parr Forsythe, for over 63 years.
Dick served in the Army Reserve in the early 1960s.
He was employed with Oppman Auto Parts for over 45 years, retiring in 2000. He was a van driver for Konetsco bus service for many years during his retirement.
Dick enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including golf, trap shooting, mountain biking, riding snowmobiles, fishing, and attending Steelers games. He was one of the original members of the Connellsville Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jeanine Forsythe of Washington, DC; his beloved dog, Sophie; his sister, JoAnn Hoover and husband Dick of Bradford; his brother- in-law, Van Humbert of Connellsville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Lois Forsythe Olinger and husband, Roy; and his brother, Howard Edward “Jack” Forsythe, Jr. and wife Ada.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday, September 20, in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green Street, Connellsville. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
