James Adams, 77, of Bridgeport, W.Va., formerly of Perryopolis, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026, in United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. Born August 4, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late James E. and Carol J. Morgan Adams.
Born and raised in Perryopolis, Jim and his wife were residents of Bridgeport for the past 31 years.
Mr. Adams was a member of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Clarksburg, W.Va., and retired from CSX Railroad in 2010 with 43 years of service as a mechanic.
Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Salem Rifle and Pistol Club. He was also an avid gardener, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Lynch Adams, to whom he was married 58 years; two daughters, Jamie (Billy) Beckinger of California, Elizabeth Adams (fiance Patrick Shaw) of Morgantown, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Jacob Beckinger, Joseph Beckinger, Jeremy Beckinger, Aaron Flanigan, Gretchen Scheuvront, Starla Shaw; great- grandchild, Beau Beckinger; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nancy Harvey of Layton, Melzia and Edwin Keffer of Vanderbilt, Elizabeth and Mark Ferguson of Perryopolis, Terry Adams of Belle Vernon; and brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Jenny Adams of Layton.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty Street, Perryopolis, 724-736-2515, where Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John The Baptist RC Church, with the Rev. Michael Thomas as celebrant. Interment will take place in Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery.
