Gladys D. Bowman, 83 of Smithfield, Pa. passed away with her loving family by her side on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
She was born June 6, 1942 in Jimtown, Fairchance, Pa.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Adeline and Harry Bowlen; Ralph Mickey; husband, George G. Bowman; three brothers, Harry, Cameron and Tom; two sisters, Joann and Vivian; daughter-in-law, Sally Bowman and very special son-in-law, Bob Riggar.
Surviving are six children, Malissa and Randy Campbell, James Mark Bowman, Robert Bowman, Sharon and Larry McKee, Linda Bowman, and George Jr. and Sara Bowman; 13 grandchildren; many great- grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean and Bill Yauger, and Donna Rae Nicklow; and brother, Ronald Mickey.
The family will receive friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Dice officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
