Victor “Vic” John Litman, 84, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 1, 1942, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Michael and Catherine Litman.
Vic was the devoted husband of Darlene “Dolly” Litman. Together, they built a loving family that was the center of Vic’s life. They would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 4.
He was a loving father to Brian (Debra) Litman, Brandan (Krista) Litman, and Justine (Ryan) Tuhy. Vic’s Catholic faith and his family were the two most important things in his life. He always made time for his children and made every effort to be there for the important moments in their lives. He was especially proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Vic had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease and joke with those around him. He had a natural ability to make people laugh and brought joy to his family and friends throughout his life.
An accomplished athlete in his younger years, Vic was a star high school baseball, football, and basketball player. He also loved playing golf and enjoyed the game for many years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball, football, and basketball. Vic loved playing cards, especially blackjack and poker. He enjoyed playing at casinos as well as sitting down for a game with family and friends. He also had a special love for chocolate candy. When visiting family, he would sometimes hide his chocolate in the nightstand so he could enjoy it later-a little habit that became a fond family memory.
Vic proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963, attaining the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and serving as a Personnel Specialist. Following his military service, he worked for U.S. Steel at Clairton Works in the Coking Department for 15 years. Throughout his career, he also worked at Martin’s as a lead gas attendant, at the Perryopolis Auto Auction, and as a blackjack dealer at Nemacolin Woodlands. Vic was a member of Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown and Scottdale. His faith remained an important part of his life. He was the proud grandfather of Brittany (Litman) Moore, Bradley Litman, Haley (Litman) Autenrieb, Derek Litman, Kaitlin Litman, Maddison Tuhy, and Morgan Tuhy, and the proud great-grandfather of Abigail and Wyatt Moore.
In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Vic is survived by his sisters Kathy (Al) Stronko and Chrissy (Tim) Seighman, as well as his sisters-in-law Maria Litman, Marie Litman, and Denise Litman, and brothers-in-law Rick (Diane) Wilkovich and David Ewing. He was preceded in death by his brothers Carl Litman, Dan Litman, Patrick Litman, and Michael Litman, and his sisters Elaine Conway, Joyce Prodan, and Joni Ewing. Above all, Vic will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
He loved his family deeply, made time for the people who mattered most to him, and never missed an opportunity to make them laugh. His faith, love, humor, and the memories he created with his family will remain with them forever.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME LLC 123 S. 1st St. West Side, Connellsville (724) 628-9033. A Parastas will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. A Panachita will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial of Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Uniontown with Fr. Kipp Wojciechowski and Fr. Oleh Seremchuk concelebrating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Hopwood.
