Lutricia Ann “Lou Ann” Sheriff Talavera, 71, of New Orleans, La., died suddenly Friday, August 7, 2026, in her home.

She was born February 2, 1955 at Uniontown Hospital, a daughter of the late Eugene H. Sheriff and Shirley Ann Campbell Sheriff.

She was a 1973 graduate of Fairchance- Georges High School and a 1992 graduate of the Uniontown School of Nursing.

Preceding her in death were her beloved son, David Lee Leadbeater, Jr.; and her loving parents, Eugene and Shirley Sheriff.

Lutricia is survived by her sisters, Sherry Gail Sheriff Bowland and husband Rick, Candy Jo Sheriff, and Rachel Roxanne Sheriff Black and husband Brian; nephews, Dustin Michael Sholtis, Thomas Eugene Sholtis and son Tommy, Michael Ray Wells II and daughter Gracelynn Athena, Bryant Daniel Wells and daughter Savannah Jolynn and son Ryan Alexander; nieces, Autumn Sierra Black, Madison Summer Black and daughter Celena Lillian Hang, and Castle Black; an uncle, Walter Chipper Campbell of Florida; and an aunt, Marie Burchette of Georgia. She is also survived by her constant canine companion, her adored Baby Girl; along with many friends, co-workers and extended family in Georgia and beyond.

The family will receive friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Monday, August 17, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, the hour of service, with Pastor Dan Bayles officiating.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Uniontown.
