Adeline “Dorothy” Wajda Kino, 101, of Thompson #2 passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born April 10, 1925, in Allison, a daughter of Stanley Wajda, Sr. and Mary Prowvozniak Wajda.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve “PePe” Kino; daughter, Debra Kino; siblings: Ann Novak, Mary Deal, Stanley Wajda, Jr., Adam Wajda, Frank Wajda, John Wajda, Walter Wajda, Joseph Wajda and Violet Galie.
Dorothy was a member of St. Frances of Assisi (Footedale) and a former member of Holy Rosary Church, Republic.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Joann Kino Monovich and husband, Joseph R.; grandchildren: Scarlett Monovich Bauman, Joseph R. Monovich, Jr and wife, Laura, Jodi Zelina and husband, Shawn Paul, Nikki Zelina and husband, Bill Rodgers and Genelle Zelina and husband, Chuck Michael; great-grandchildren: Jordan Bauman, Cameron Monovich, Luke Monovich, Corey Paul, Max Rodgers, Lily Rodgers, Amelia Michael and William Toufie Michael; brother, Thomas Wajda; son-in-law, William Zelina; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lafayette Manor for the outstanding kind and compassionate care given to Dorothy.
Dorothy’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, in the KISH-FABRY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 19 Legion Street, Republic, where Prayers of Transfer will be prayed at 9:15 a.m. on Friday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Frances of Assisi Roman Catholic Church (Footedale worship site), Footedale. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Republic.
