Clara M. Dennis
Uniontown
With profound love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Clara M. Dennis, a devoted wife, of 60 beautiful years, to Westley S. Dennis; loving mother of Rodney (Beth) Dennis and Leslie M. Reeves (Earl); beloved grandmother, devoted sister, aunt, and cousin.
She truly was a woman of unwavering faith. She departed this life peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026, surrounded by love and the presence of her family.
Born on September 19, 1943, in Uniontown, Clara was the daughter of the late Dorothy Mae Ford-Davis and Robert A. Davis Sr. Throughout her life, she embodied strength, compassion, selflessness, and love. Family was the center of her world, no stranger existed.
Clara M. Dennis was a God-fearing woman who’s faith remained at the foundation of her life. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Rose Baptist Church. Through every season, the joyful and the difficult, she trusted God.
She was the kind of mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin whose love could be felt without explanation. She nurtured her family, protected them, prayed for them, and encouraged them. Her home was a place of comfort, peace, love, light, and laughter. Her presence gave those around her a sense of strength and belonging.
Even when faced with one of the greatest battles of her life, Clara M. Dennis demonstrated extraordinary courage. For two and a half years, she fought courageously against cancer, showing her family what perseverance, faith and strength truly looked like. Her battle did not define her life, the love she gave, the family she built, the faith she carried or the many lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Mae Ford-Davis and Robert A. Davis Sr.; her beloved son, Todd W. Dennis; her siblings: Robert A. Davis Jr., Carolyn Davis-Lang, Charles A. Davis, Barbara L. Davis-DeShields and Dorothy M. Davis-Jones; and great grandson. De’Vyon Dennis.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Westley S. Dennis; her children, Rodney W. Dennis (Beth) and Leslie M. Reeves (Earl); her grandchildren: She’Quita, Rostina, De’Ja, Darius, Dara, Taylor, Rodney and Samuel; her great-grandchildren: Ma’Khya, De’Vyon, Ka’Mari, Roberto, Zaharii, Westley, A’Darrian and Ashton; great-great-granddaughter La’Loni; special sisters, June (Estelle) Davis-Thomas and Elizabeth Hooper; special nephew, Darnell Jones; her sister friends, known as “The Shirts” and a host of nieces, nephews, sister-cousins, extended family members and friends whose lives were forever touched by her love.
Although our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and her faith has carried her home. The lessons she taught, the prayers she prayed, the strength she demonstrated, the unconditional love she poured into her family and friends up until her very last days and the special sweet treats that filled the stomachs of almost every East End resident will continue through every generation that follows.
Her life was a testimony of faith.
Friends will be received at the Mt. Rose Baptist Church, 9 S. Grant, St., Uniontown from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 24. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25 at the church.
