Reverend Terry A. Hercik of Verona, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with renal cancer.

Born on June 9, 1954, in Uniontown, Terry graduated from St. Fidelis High School in Herman, The Seminary of St. Pius X in Erlanger, Ky. and St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe and went on to serve as a diocesan priest in the Greensburg diocese for many years. He received further education at IUP in Indiana, for studies in negotiation and mediation. After the priesthood he was an entrepreneur and also worked in human resources.

Father Terry was known for a quiet generosity that touched everyone who knew him. He loved to travel throughout the world with groups of friends. He especially loved attending Mardi Gras and the Kentucky Derby each year. Terry enjoyed attending sporting events. He also enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

Father Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Ulanosky and Aloysius Hercik; and sister, Lorie Hercik.

He is survived by brother, Thomas Hercik of Uniontown; sister, Darla Rocco (Edward) of Allison Park and sister, Marlene Jane Evans of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; nieces and nephews: Nicholas Rocco of Saline, Mich., Matthew Rocco (Katherine) of Glenshaw, Michelle Rocco (Matt Skeen) of Warren, Ohio, Kathryn Evans (Andreas Hasfura) of Oakland, Calif., Emily Evans (Peter Blanco) of New York City, Alec Hercik of Uniontown and Thomas Evans of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; great-nieces and nephews: Evelyn Skeen, Eliana Rocco, Lydia Rocco, Sylvia Rocco, Ines Hasfura and Julian Blanco.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, at ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St, Uniontown, PA 15401.

A memorial mass celebrating Terry’s life will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 27.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Diocese of Greensburg or Hillman Cancer Center at Shadyside Hospital.
