John S. “Jack” Flowers, Sr., 78, of Shoaf, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, August 25, 2026. He was the son of the late James L. Flowers and Genevieve Stoviak-Flowers.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, James N. Flowers; his infant sister, Barbara; daughter, Kim; sister-in- law, Doris Flowers; and great-nephew, Nicholas Flowers.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Mary Ann Flowers; and his children: daughter, Jackie and husband Bobby; son, JJ and wife Sarah; daughter, Patty and husband Clarlie. He has four grandchildren, Vinny Partica, Emily Waterman, Katelyn and Baylee Flowers; one great-grandchild, Willow Rose Flowers-McClee; brothers, Tom and companion Dorothy, Larry and Joyce, and Ted; and he was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jack was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, newly appointed great- grandfather, and a treasured friend. Family was the heart of his life, and he was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved.
Throughout his 78 years, he was an honored military veteran, an amazing softball player and best 3rd baseman around, ASA/USA umpire, lifetime member of CWV, Masontown Fish & Game, Leckrone Gun Club, C2 Club, and Amend Gun Club. He was and always will be a huge pillar in the community, highly regarded and remembered and missed by all.
The family will receive friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Sunday, August 30, from 2 to 5 p.m., when a blessing service will begin, with the Rev. Fr. Leonard Stoviak officiating.
