Elisabeth B. “Liz” Myers, 85, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at her home. She was born March 13, 1941, in Uniontown, daughter of the late Harry and Jeanne Bennett Shockey.
Liz was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas Shockey.
Elizabeth graduated from Uniontown High School Class of 1959. She attended Westmoreland Community College where she received a degree in Medical Coding. She was employed at the Uniontown Hospital as a supervisor in the Medical Records Department. She was also a teacher at LBI in Uniontown and Garrett College in Maryland where she taught Coding.
Liz was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Uniontown and active with WVU Uniontown Hospital Volunteers.
Left to cherish Elizabeth’s memory are her sons: Scott (Melissa) Myers of Farmington, Michael (Jennifer) Myers of Chalk Hill and Jeff (Courtney) Myers of Munhall; daughters, Laura (John) Hansen of Hazard and Tracey (Timothy) Greer of Marion, Ohio. She is also survived by grandchildren: Kaitlin Dillow, Matthew John Hansen, Spencer Hansen, Hannah Greer-Young, Grace Greer, Eliza Greer and Travis Myers; 10 great-grandchildren: Jackson, Brooks, Riley, Declan Greer, Declan Myers, McKenna, Creighton, Finn, Holden and Emeryn; and special friends, Cindy Jones and Vicki Beasley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, where family and friends will be received on Monday, August 31, from 2 until 7 p.m. A service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, at 10 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 20 Dunbar St., Uniontown with Pastor Ryan Washabaugh officiating. Interment will be private.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Asbury United Methodist Church in Elisabeth’s memory.
