Richard Carrington Williams II, affectionately known as “Joe,” peacefully departed this life Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the age of 66.

He was born March 12, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Richard Carrington Williams and Barbara Ann Curry-Williams.

Joe was a man of strength, dignity and quiet wisdom.

Throughout his life, he demonstrated unyielding dedication to his family and was an avid car enthusiast and animal lover. Always offering guidance, support, and love, Joe was known for his warm spirit, meaningful conversations, and the pride he took in those he loved. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back to assist without a moments notice.

Joe valued hard work and integrity and carried these principles in life. He touched many lives through his kindness, generosity, and steady presence. To know Joe was to know loyalty, laughter, humor, and a heart that cared deeply for others.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Kim Williams; his children, Richard Carrington Williams III, Richonda Williams, Recardo Williams, Rico Williams, and O’Shea Thomas; and stepson, Ryan Dennis.

He was preceded in death by his stepson, Gregory “Putty” Dennis.

He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, MaKalya Hamaad, Ciara Williams, Nataya Williams, and Richard Williams IV; great-granddaughter, Zayla Hamaad; and grandson, the late Jaedyn Rain Williams.

Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Williams; and sister, Bridget Williams.

Joe is survived by his siblings, Anthony Williams, Annette (Seid) Williams-Naeimypour, and John Dewayne Williams; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.

Joe will forever be remembered for the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the legacy he leaves behind. Though he has transitioned from this earthly life, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him. His legacy is not measured in years alone, but in the lives he touched, the love he shared, and the strength he gave to others.

“He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.” Psalm 37:6

Joe will be sadly missed. The family deeply appreciates all of the support received during this difficult time.
