Vernon E. Pierce, 100, of Uniontown, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, February 14, 2026. He was born March 2, 1925, in Uledi.
Preceding him in death was his loving wife of 71 years and seven months, Lucy Silbaugh Pierce; his parents, Jesse J. Pierce and Jennie Layhue Pierce; great-great-grandchild, Jameson Pierce; and eight siblings: Roxie Little, Crystle White, Sanford Pierce, Orpha Jean Rosian, John Pierce, Phyllis Goodrich, Harry Pierce and Donna Victor.
Vernon was a member of the Brownsville Wesleyan Methodist Church. He was a very loving father and grandfather, who served God and his fellow man. Vernon was the patriarch of his family and a true ambassador for the Lord.
Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Randall E. Pierce and wife, Brenda of Adel, Georgia, Larry L. Pierce of Uniontown and Judith L. Pierce of New Salem; four grandchildren: Allen J. Pierce, Sr. (Patricia), Patricia L. Pierce, Ashton Campbell and Hannah E. Campbell; seven great-grandchildren: Stephanie Williams (Trey), Heather Redman, Crymes Gainor Harrell, Jr. (Sara), Allen Pierce, Jr. (Alli), Cole Arnold Campbell, Emily Ewing, and Jaxson Brundege, eight great-great-grandchildren: Taylon Seymore, Lawson Williams, Grayson Williams, Emily Williams, Scarlette Harrell, Baston Harrell, Kamry Pierce and Gia Pierce; and a sister, Naomi Whoolery, of Masontown.
Friends will be received in the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and until 11 a.m., the hour of service, Friday, with the Reverend Edward Truitt officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
