Wilson Eugene Churilla, 7, of Greensboro, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 21, 2026.
He was born April 20, 2018 in Morgantown, W.Va., a son of Philip Steven Churilla and Kristina Lynn Deter Churilla.
Wilson was predeceased by his great- grandparents, Edward and Dorothy Deter, Glenn Adamson, Kathryn and David Redman, James, Sr. and Phyliss Churilla, and Leo Jake and Nora E. Wilson.
Wilson was a second grade student in Mrs. McIntire’s class at Bobtown Elementary.
He was a member of the Mapletown Methodist Church.
Wilson was a member of Cub Scout Troop 1158 of Rices Landing. He enjoyed target shooting, played football and basketball with the Bobtown Bulldogs, and played baseball with the Greensboro Youth Baseball Association.
For such a small boy he made a huge impact. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Wilson he left a forever impression. He gave the best hugs. He was a lively and wild young boy.
In addition to his parents, left to cherish Wilson’s memory are his brother and best friend, Leo James Churilla; grandparents, James E., Jr. and Brenda Churilla, and Patricia Deter and Richard (Karen) Deter; aunts and uncles, Richard Deter, Jr. (Uncle Ricky), Gregory Deter (Uncle Greg) and wife Chelsey, Augusta Deter (Aunt Gussie), Bobbi Jo Deter and Chelsea Churilla Cedeno and husband Steeven; special cousins, Rosemary Deter and Winika Deter (his baby); step-uncles, Jeffrey White (Colleen) and Christopher White; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received Friday, February 27, from 2 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, February 28, from 10 until the time of a service at 11 a.m. celebrating Wilson’s life, with Pastor Lanfer Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
