Shirley M. Cossick, 88, of Hopwood, a devoted wife, mother, and friend passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

She was born on December 4, 1938, in Uniontown a daughter of the late Charles and Edna Sanders Crutchman.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her dearly loved daughter, Tina.

For 64 years she was a loving and devoted wife to her best friend, Edward.

Family meant everything to Shirley. She was known for her great sense of comfort and caring to those who loved her. She enjoyed talking to friends, visiting family, playing bingo, and shared a love of drives in the countryside with Ed enjoying time spent together and creating lasting memories.

Above all, Shirley will be remembered most for being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 64 years, Edward Cossick; children: Tim Cossick of Fla., Tracy Asmussen and husband, Erick of Tenn. and Todd Cossick and wife, Dana of N.C.; and three grandchildren: Taylor, Tom and Reece.

Shirley was a member of St. John Byzantine Church.

Visitation for Shirley will be held at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401, from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 13. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church, 185 N. Main St., Uniontown, PA 15401, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, with a Panachida service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment is in St. John Byzantine Cemetery in Hopwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. John Byzantine Church, 185 East Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
