Virginia “Gini” Stallard Armstrong passed away peacefully Thursday, January 1, 2026, in Fayetteville, Ga., at age 86, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born February 20, 1939, in Uniontown.

Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Neil W. Armstrong; daughter, Debi Siddall; and brother, Ted Stallard.

She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Parfitt (David); and son, Gene Armstrong (Jackie); 10 grandchildren, David Morgan, Keith Siddall, Noelle Picton (Trent), Greg Siddall, Elizabeth Tracey (Cris), Will Parfitt (Caroline), Ryan Armstrong, Amy Eberwein (Noah), Spencer Armstrong (Rachel), and Maggie Armstrong; along with her great- grandchildren, Joshua Morgan, Aurora Morgan, and Evie Eberwein. Gini also held a wide circle of lifelong friends close to her heart, including Janice Erminio, Arlene Fullem, Sandra King, and Gertie Gerwig, and so many others whom she lovingly considered family.

After graduating from Uniontown High School, Gini trained in data processing in Honolulu, Hawaii. She later owned a cross-stitch shop in Wallingford, Conn., and retired as a bookkeeper in Meriden, Conn.

A devoted Christian, Gini was a lifetime member of Central Christian Church in Uniontown and volunteered with Worldwide Discipleship Association.

She loved music, sewing, cross-stitching, participating in the annual Uniontown High School Class of ’57 reunion socials, and sharing her musical talents with the Peachtree City Peach Pickers Dulcimer Group.

Known for her generosity, creativity and love for animals, Gini lived by Mother Teresa’s words: “Do small things with great love.” Her faith and kindness continue to inspire those who knew her.

A private family celebration will be held in Fayetteville, with a memorial service at the Central Christian Church in Uniontown at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16.
