Jon R. Serra, 79, of Smock, passed away peacefully, in his home, Friday, January 16, 2026. Born January 10, 1947, in Uniontown, he was the son of the late Frank and Norma Serra.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen Paull Serra; his children, Jon R. (Andrea) Serra, Jr. of Canonsburg, Jeffrey F. (Amanda) Serra of Connellsville, and Nicholas P. Serra of Uniontown; three grandchildren, Jackson, Jonah, and Leo; his brother, Jan Serra of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and sister, Mari-Martha (Tony) Swetz of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Jones.

Jon served in the Navy and, during the Vietnam War, served as a hospital corpsman in the Marines, where he was referred to as “Doc”.

He was a rural letter carrier for the USPS for over 20 years.

Jon was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, always cheering on the Pirates. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, watching old Westerns on TV, and listening to jazz and classic rock music.

Visitation at STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 20. On Wednesday, January 21, a service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, with full military honors accorded.
