John Zoretic
formerly of Republic
John “Rick” Zoretic, a resident of Southport, N.C., passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born April 23, 1939, the son of Joseph Zoretic and Nellree Cover Zoretic. He graduated from Red Stone High School in Republic.
Rick then entered the U.S. Navy, where he served for two years.
Rick had worked as a sales manager in the automobile business.
He loved playing cards, pool, golf, and was an avid Washington Commanders fan. Rick was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Zoretic was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Faye Kachur; and two brothers, William Zoretic and Merle Zoretic.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Zoretic; two children, Joseph Zoretic and Shari (David) Klementz; two grandchildren, Rebecca (Carson) Chandler and Andrew (Merideth) Klementz; and two great-grandsons, Carson Chandler and Camden Chandler; a sister-in-law, Bethanne (Art) Boyle; and numerous nephews and nieces.
There will be a celebration of life in Pennsylvania at a later date.
