Catherine Marie Doljac Mihalsky
Uniontown
Catherine “Kaye” Marie Doljac Mihalsky of Uniontown, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the age of 91 at her home.
She was born to John and Mary Lescanec Doljac on November 22, 1934, and was the eighth of nine siblings. She married Adolph Mihalsky on September 3, 1953.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Mihalsky; her brothers, Joseph, John, Lawrence, and George Doljac; and her sisters, Caroline Kaydo, Mary Eurez, Theresa Doljac, and Mary Doljac. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Catherine was a lifetime member of St. Thomas R. C. Church of Footedale, PA and currently a member of St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church of Footedale. Her life was strung together by stories of laughter and the people around her she loved the most. As a girl, she would sing on the radio with her sister Mary. In her high school years, she could be found hopping from school to school with her girlfriends socializing during lunch periods. As a young woman, she would go on to live in Washington, D.C. working at Doctors Hospital, before heading home again. She was a keeper of chickens, an excellent gardner, and someone who fed everyone who came through her door. Catherine loved matching her purse to her shoes and a well accessorized outfit. A woman bejeweled and beloved.
After her husband Adolph’s passing, she enjoyed her solitude, but also still loved a good story! She spent the last decades of her life helping to raise three grandchildren, keeping her home and garden in pristine condition, and watching true crime documentaries.
Family was always welcome on the farm, and it stands as a testament to all the love she had to give.
Catherine is survived by her son, Christopher Mihalsky; her daughter, Diane Rider and husband John; and her daughter, Karen Sullivan and Richard Szczygiel. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jamie Rider, Ashley Rider, and Garrett Sullivan and his wife Alexandria.
Also survived by munerous nieces and nephews.
