It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Michael Patrick Gulino, 45, who was taken home to God Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Michael was born September 7, 1980, son of Samuel and Patricia Petro Gulino.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Samuel and Frances Gulino, and Patsy and Sara Petro; uncle, James Grossman; and several great-uncles and their families.

He is survived by his brother, Anthony Gulino of Los Angeles, Calif.; uncles, Joe Gulino (Terry) and Nick Gulino (Tina) of Uniontown; aunts, Mary Ann Grossman of San Francisco, Calif. and Paula O’Connell (Dan) of Uniontown; special friend, Chasity Ellsworth; cousins, Amanda Kalin (Ian) and children, and Dante O’Connell (Carly) and son, all of California, Giavanna Gulino and Valentina Gulino of Uniontown; great-uncle and great-aunt, Ralph and Monica Franks of Hopwood; and their son, David (Donna) and family.

Michael was a beloved history teacher of 24 years and will be dearly missed by his former students and friends. He graduated from Duquesne University, earned his Master’s Degree from the former California University of PA, and was in his final semester of earning his PhD in Education from Indiana University of PA.

Known for his beautiful flowers that delighted his neighbors, his greatest joys were his family, friends, dog, Gracie and cats, Sunni and Petey. He had a passion for the outdoors and spent many enjoyable hours camping, fishing, gardening and landscaping.

As a teen Michael earned his Eagle Scout badge from Troop 608, Third Presbyterian Church, Uniontown and more recently worked part-time for Duda’s Farm.

Michael was loved for his kindness and compassion towards all who were privileged to know him. Truly a bright light has gone from this world, and we will miss him until we reunite with him in Heaven.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at GATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 136 N. Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, where a prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, July 9. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.

Donations in Michael’s memory may be made to St. Therese RC Church, Uniontown, or to the Fayette Friends of Animals.
