Frances A. Pompura Bendo

Frances A. Pompura Bendo, 92, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 2, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born July 17, 1933 in New Salem, the daughter of the late Michael John and Anna Mary Voytko Pompura.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Bendo; her brothers, Michael, Frank, John, Peter and Joe Pompura; and sisters, Margaret Sheba, Ann Helisek, Agnes Jubeck, Josephine Franks, Mary Hunter and Stephanie Kremposky.
Left to cherish Frances’ memory are her children, Jerome Bendo and wife Renee, Renee Coffman and husband Jeff, and Peter Bendo and wife Andrea; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Androsky; brother, George Pompura and sister-in-law, Pamela Pompura; and extended family.
Frances was a graduate of Uniontown High School. She was a member of St. Mary the Nativity Roman Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.
Her family was her life and her greatest joy. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved to have a great time. She dedicated her life to her family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where the family will receive family and friends Friday, July 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, July 11, from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be offered. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Frances’ life will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Mary the Nativity Roman Catholic Church.
Donations, in memory of Frances, may be made to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.
