Nancy A. Leonard
Brownsville
Nancy A. Leonard, 72, of Brownsville, died Thursday, July 9, 2026, in WVU Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown.
She was born November 11, 1953, in Uniontown, to the late Robert Andrew Chidester and the late June Louise Hoff Chidester.
Nancy worked at LaFayette Manor for 40 years. She was a restorative aide, and she truly enjoyed her job there.
She will be fondly remembered as having loved her family deeply, and they will treasure the memories that they each have of her. Nancy never liked to ask for help with anything, was stubborn and hard-headed, but she also had a big heart that matched.
In her spare time, she loved to be outdoors. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and spending time in nature. She also thoroughly enjoyed decorating for every holiday possible. Both inside and outside of her home were always decorated to celebrate the season.
Left to cherish her memory are four children, Tammy (Robert) Hardesty, Donna (Buddy) Leonard, Harry Leonard, Jr., and Minnie Ann Leonard; 10 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; two siblings, Toni (Kwang) Park, and Bob (Brenda) Chidester; many nieces and nephews; and her significant other, Frank Ford. She also left behind her beloved dog, “Gizmo”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Eugene Leonard, Sr.; her son, Brian Leonard; one granddaughter; and her brother, Harry A. Chidester.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS- CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Wednesday, July 15, from 3 until the 7 p.m. hour of service, with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
