Shirley Eileen Evans Mastronicola Scrip, “Gram,” 92, of Grindstone, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, with her loving family at her side.
She was born on December 28, 1933, at home in Donora, to the late Alden Audrey and Julia Jean Stofa Evans.
Shirley was a member of The First Christian Church of Grindstone. She was an avid reader and loved to paint pictures and wood items. Her favorite pastime was junk store shopping.
A graduate of Donora High School, and later a graduate, with her RN, from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She was retired from Brownsville General Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded ni death by her daughter, Lorriane Mastronicola; her sisters: Alverta “Dolly” Teslovich, Hazel Breheim and Geraldine “Gerry” McCleary; and her brother, Alden G. Evans.
Surviving are a brother: Alan “Rocky” Evans; her four children: Jeff Mastronicola and his wife, Marlene, Tim Mastronicola and his wife, Joy, Valerie Thistlethwaite and fiance, Cecil, and Kathy Seitz and her husband, Robert; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grand- children; and long time friend and shopping buddy, Patty Craig.
Friends and family will be received in The SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street Brownsville, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
