Michael R. Kisko III, 41, of Fairchance, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, just two days before his 42nd birthday. He was born on July 24, 1984.
Michael was the cherished son of Michael R. Kisko Jr. and Pam Angel Kisko of Smithfield. He was a source of joy to all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving grandmothers, Veda Angel and Jane (Frank) Philpott; his special aunts and uncles: John (Larae) Angel, Michael (Theresa) Angel, Andrew (Sheila) Angel, Tammy Angel, Robin Kisko and Kelly (John) Lizza; his loving cousins: Steven, David, Heather, Jennifer, Jonathan, Cameron, Riley and Ryan; his faithful cat, Alli Boo, who was a constant companion; and many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Michael R. Kisko and Albert Angel; and a special uncle, Albert Angel, Jr.
Michael was employed as a Corrections Officer at SCI Greene. He graduated from Albert Gallatin Area High School in 2002 and earned his bachelor’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania in 2007.
Michael had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He was a loyal friend to everyone he met, with a fun-loving spirit and an infectious sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. He always seemed to have a smile on his face and approached life with an optimism that was contagious, choosing to find joy and share it with those around him, He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom foraging and spending time in nature. He also enjoyed learning about medicinal mushrooms and their natural properties. His curiosity led him to enjoy stories about Bigfoot, UFOs and other unexplained mysteries. He enjoyed playing the guitar, loved cooking and was known for preparing delicious meals to share with family and friends.
Michael shared many meaningful years with his former wife, Mandy Cernelli, and treasured the memories they created together. He also held a special place in his heart for his young cousin, Lila, who affectionately called him, “Uncle Michael.”
Michael will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering positivity, genuine compassion, and the joy he brought to others, His laughter, warm heart and gift for making others smile left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Although his life was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Michael will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 27. A short Time of Remembrance will begin at 6 p.m. with The Reverend Frank Philpott officiating along with SCI Greene Corrections Honor Guard.
