Robert Joseph Hendricks
New Salem
Robert “Bob” Joseph Hendricks, 89, of Menallen township, New Salem, passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with his loyal dogs and loving caregivers by his side. He was born in Brownsville June 27, 1936, a son of William Walter and Julia Bereza Skockelak Hendricks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Darlene Lopes and Sharon Chun; sister, Dolores Senyitko; brothers, Sam Hendricks and Edward Hendricks; and three grandchildren, Earl, Michelle, Andrei.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert W. Hendricks, Sr.; his daughter, Donna Long; grandchildren, Sheldon, Fabian, Alexander, Andreanna, Melissa, Johnny, Jamie, Robert, Jr., Zachary; several great- and great- great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to his many caregivers, especially Holly, Vanessa, Christina, and Andrea, that helped to create a memorable last few years of life happily at home.
Robert was a proud Marine, with many interesting careers ranging from barber, auto parts store owner, sheep farmer, and over the last decade he created the Oak Bar as his last labor of love.
He enjoyed spending time in his garden, listening to polka music, playing his poker machine, and catching up with old friends.
Robert’s family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 14, in the KISH-FABRY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 19 Legion Street, Republic. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, where Full Military Rights and Honors will be accorded by the George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood.
