James F. Cunningham, 92, of Vanderbilt, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown. He was born March 8, 1934 in Ohiopyle, a son of the late Francis and Stella Wolfe Cunningham.

Mr. Cunningham was a retired boilermaker, having been a member of Union Local #154, Pittsburgh.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 101st Airborne Division.

He was a devoted member of the James Cochran Lodge #614 Free & Accepted Masons and a member of the Central Fellowship Church. James was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Louise A. Donavich Cunningham; children, Donna Steele and husband Mark Steele, and Gina Ashton and husband Donald Hand; sister, Joanne Robbins and husband James Robbins; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald Cunningham; and a half-brother, Alvin Wolfe.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green Street, Connellsville, where services will be held Wednesday, July 1, at 11, with Pastor Mike Stange and the Rev. Travis Deans officiating. Interment will follow in the Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery. The James Cochran Lodge #614 will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home.
