James Patrick Kanar, 83, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Mt. Macrina Manor.

Born April 27, 1942, son of Anthony and Stella Sknerski Kanar. James owned and operated Bottled Gas Service in Carmichaels, along with this brother Regis G. Kanar.

Deceased, in addition to his parents and brother, are sisters: Leona Krivosky, Bridget Sumey, Virgina Varto, Dalphenia Kanar and Louise Kanar.

James was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday March 4, at STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown.

A blessing service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at the funeral home, followed by internment at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville.
