Ryan Lee Peton, 52, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 2, 2026, in Coraopolis, where he was residing at the time of his passing.

He was born in Uniontown June 28, 1973, second in line of three children and son of John and Nancy Peton of Uniontown.

Ryan grew up in Uniontown. He was a happy and quiet child, who drew and played, and spent countless spring and summer days playing outside and riding bikes with his brother, Johnny; his aunt, Tricia; and his cousins, Holly, Billy and Kenny, in the ’80s, when all the kids played outside.

Ryan graduated from Laurel Highlands High School Class of 1991. He then graduated from the Pennsylvania School of Culinary Arts.

He was a gifted artist who taught his sister and children how to draw and passed to them a love of art.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Carol Ravanbakash; his paternal grandparents, John and Gloria Peton; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Jane Nicholson; and his cousin and life-long friend from youth, Kenny Nicholson, Jr.

He is survived by his two children, Corey Peton and Carmen Peton; and their mother, Amy; his parents, John and Nancy Peton; siblings, Kristin and Johnny Peton; niece, Haloa Peton- Michael; and many beloved cousins, aunts and uncles.

Ryan was a handsome and talented individual with the soul of a poet, who was very sensitive and emotionally intelligent. He would help anyone in need. He enjoyed watching movies, reading books and creating art. He was an excellent listener and gave unbiased and fair advice when it was sought. Small talk was not his forte; he was nonjudgmental and welcomed meaningful conversations.

He is gone far too soon. He knew God, and his family is confident that he is with Him now, in love and in peace. He was loved, and will be deeply missed by many. It is a sadness to have lost him, and the world for his family is forever altered by his absence.

Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 6. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, from 10 until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Rita’s Cemetery, Connellsville.
