Peter M. Helisek, Sr., 71, of Smock, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026 in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 26, 1954 in Uniontown, a son of the late Charles and Anne Pompura Helisek.
He is survived by his children, Peter M. (Lori) Helisek Jr. and family, Zachary Helisek, Dale (Robyn) Illig and family, Brian (Shannon) Illig and Laura Illig; sisters, Carol (Ron) Kawatsky and family, and Arlene Pierno and family.
Peter worked in masonry and construction. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church of Perryopolis. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, watching sports on TV and the outdoors. Pete was especially known for his wit, humor and charismatic charm. He lit any room he entered.
Pete truly loved his family and cared for his mother.
Visitation will be at STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, Saturday, March 7, from 2 until the time of a blessing service at 6 p.m.
