Elizabeth Lydia “Betty” Gorman, 84, of Adah, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, in her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Betty was born June 15, 1941, in the same home where she had resided since 1976. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Tomecheck.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Thomas Marshall Gorman, Jr.; and her sister, Evelyn Marovic.

Betty was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Masontown. Betty graduated from German Township High School in 1959 and in 1961 moved to Washington DC, where she met the love of her life. She and Tom were married October 5, 1963 and then moved to Carthage, Ind. In 1975, they moved their family to Adah, where they remained. Tom and Betty were married 53 years before his passing in 2017.

Betty was employed by Ben Franklin 5 & 10 in Masontown from 1980 until 1990.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Julia Dugan and husband Kerry of McClellandtown, Christine Hundertmark and husband Jay of Marianna, Tracy Gorman of Masontown, and Celeste Woods and fiance Jeff Jacobs of Bruceton Mills, W.Va. She had five grandchildren, who called her Gram: Kerry Dugan Jr. and wife Felicha of Jefferson, Amanda McKoy of Pittsburgh, Frank Magazine Jr. of Adah, Justine Hundertmark and Jayce Hundertmark, both of Marianna. Betty also had four great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her GiGi: Greyson and Ruby Miller and Gideon and Lily Dugan.
