Ernest Russell “Rusty” Riggar, of West Leisenring, journeyed to Heaven Thursday, March 19, 2026. He was born January 30, 1954.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 35 wonderful years, Erma J. Pople Riggar; sons, Russell (Hayley) Riggar, Robert (Alisa) Pierce, Michael (Megan) Pierce; and daughter, Emily Pierce; his brothers, Kenneth (Barbara) Riggar and Mark (Tina) Riggar; sisters, Diane (Earl) McGregor and Becky (Chuck) Booker; 12 cherished grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews, Donald and Robert Colgan; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Preceding Rusty in his journey to Heaven were his father and mother, Bernard and Shirley Thorpe Riggar; his daughter, Renee Riggar; brother, Bernie Riggar; and sister, Peggy Fait.
Rusty was an avid Steelers fan, a tremendously gifted carpenter and electrician, and known to be the kindest, most loving person to all who knew him.
In life, his loving wife, Erma could always be found saying, “My dear Rusty, you are the best husband, father, and grandfather that we could ever ask for”.
With his passing, she also wanted to include the following message to Rusty here: “I love you, dear honey bunny, you were the best. May you rest in peace”.
