Ralph Lee Hustead, Jr., 82, of Hempfield Township, known to all as “Lee”, died on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
He was born in Uniontown, PA on September 27, 1943 to the late Ralph and June Smith Hustead.
Lee graduated from Penn State University with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1965. After college, he worked in the machine tool industry prior to starting N/C Services, Inc., of which he was President / Owner until his retirement.
Lee was a member of the Numerical Control Society.
Lee enjoyed reminiscing about his former drumming days, family vacations, his Corvettes, his Harley and especially his biplane, the Pitts S-2A. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
Later in life, he enjoyed creating and sharing YouTube music concert playlists.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen; son, Robert Hustead; daughter, Diane Hustead and significant other, Brian Bates; granddaughter, Julia Hustead; in-laws, George Kozak, Sam and Carol Kozak, Joseph Olsavsky and John Olsavsky; several nieces and nephews and their families: Alan (Cheryl) Wilson, Rodger Wilson, Mary Ann (Jim) Blosser, Emily (Darin) Pietrantoni, Ron (Angela) Kozak, Karen Kozak, Joanne Halfhill and Katy (Ken) Goyak.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Hustead; sister, Carol Bierce; brother-in-law, Ed Bierce; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Kathryn Olsavsky; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Kozak and Cindy Olsavsky; nephews, Michael Olsavsky and David Olsavsky; and great-nephew, Alan Lee Wilson.
The family thanks the AHN Hospice team, and Ann Cher from Visiting Angels, for outstanding support. Lee’s final resting place will be in the Hustead family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery in Fairchance. Services will be held privately.
