Nancy Jean Mitchell, 75, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and friends on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Nancy earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Penn State University and dedicated many years of service to the American Red Cross, where she faithfully worked as a Tier 3 Agent up until the time of her passing. Her compassion, work ethic, and willingness to help others made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ferris P. Mitchell of Uniontown.
Nancy is survived by her loving children, Tracey Lynn Mitchell, 54, of Monessen and Kevin Paul Mitchell, 52, of Punta Gorda, Florida. She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughters: Kelsey Paige Mitchell, Olivia Jean Mitchell, Taylor JeanDennis and Laura Katlin Mitchell. Also surviving are her dear sister, Karen Pratt; and her beloved niece, Justine Wandel, both of Connellsville.
Nancy was a beloved member of the community, a former softball coach, and truly one of the most amazing mothers anyone could ever know. She was a gentle soul who never met a stranger and never had an enemy. Her kindness, wisdom, and comforting spirit touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, LLC., 123 S. 1st. Street, West Side, Connellsville, 724-628-9033. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at her home, located at 45 Walnut Street, Uniontown.
