Joseph James Franks, Jr.

Lemont Furnace

Joseph James Franks, Jr., 52, of Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Born on November 5, 1973, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Joe was a beloved son of the late Rose A. Falco Franks and Joseph James Franks.

He attended Laurel Highlands High School and later became a hardworking small business owner, working for many years as a pallet and scrap hauler. He took pride in his work and was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others whenever he could.

Joe loved his family more than anything and took immense pride in being a father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Joe enjoyed riding quads, cookouts, family get-togethers, going out with friends, and making memories with the people he cared most about.

He was strong-willed, stood firm in what he believed, and never met a stranger. Joe loved having a good time, telling stories, and making people laugh. He had a way of turning an ordinary night into one people would talk about for years afterward. If there was music playing, friends gathered around, and food on the grill, chances are Joe was right in the middle of it.

He was a man who could light up a room with his humor, personality, and larger-than-life presence. Whether through a funny story, a joke, or simply being there for someone, Joe had a way of making people feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for. He lived life loud, loved hard, and leaves behind countless memories that will keep people laughing and smiling for years to come.

Joe is survived by his loving daughters, Rose Weimer, Miranda Weimer, Sapphire Franks, and Sophia Franks; his devoted brother, Douglas Franks; his nieces, Gabby and Kayla Franks; his special nephew, Ky; and his cherished grandchildren, Dom, Derek, Destinee, Serenity, De’Ariyah, Nolann, Kyliah, and Malakai. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose A. Falco Franks and Joseph D. Franks, Sr..

Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, the memories Joe created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on through everyone who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 14 from 11 to 1 p.m. the hour of service at the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, INC. 297 E.Main St Uniontown, Pa. All condolences and floral tributes may be sent through www.lantzfh.com
