Janet Elaine Macosta

Janet Elaine Macosta, 85, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully, in Mount Vernon of South Park Personal Care Home, Friday, October 23, 2026.
She was born October 18, 1941 in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Robert Hammond and Janet Cowell.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Edison Skip Macosta; and a granddaughter, Felicity Elaine Macosta.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Monessen, and also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Surviving are two sons, Scott (Lara) Macosta of Daisytown, and Mark (Joanne) Macosta of Marianna; along with grandchildren, Nickolai (Victoria) Macosta, Malaina Macosta and fiance Nate Kelly, Carlo Macosta; and her great- granddaughter, Sabrina Macosta.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, October 27, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
